When the ladder is set down, the mechanism locks with as little as 9 lbs of applied weight — requiring no pins, levers, or manual adjustments. No. Level-EZE® is the only automatic leveler that meets all ANSI standards for portable extension ladders and does not affect the manufacturer's warranty when properly installed. This is acknowledged by major manufacturers including Werner. UL recommends cutting the bottom rung to maintain the original duty rating and ladder length.

Level-EZE® adds only approximately 4–5 lbs to the ladder, significantly less than manual levelers which typically weigh 8–11 lbs. This reduced weight addition helps prevent back injuries during repeated ladder setup and repositioning throughout the workday.

Installation takes approximately 25 minutes and can be completed by the ladder owner using provided instructions and video tutorials. Factory installation is also available through most major ladder manufacturers including Werner, Louisville, Bauer, and Little Giant, and field installation is offered through select ladder and tool distributors.

Level-EZE® adjusts up to 9.5 inches to compensate for uneven ground, including stairs, rooftops, slopes, curbs, gravel, and dirt surfaces. It also adds approximately 4 inches to the ladder's base width, improving stability even on level ground where traditional leveling is not required.

Level-EZE® has been life-tested over 90,000 cycles with no failure and is designed to outlast the life of the ladder. Maintenance is minimal — occasional dry silicone spray lubrication is recommended. In high-dust environments, clean with pressurized water or air. Inspect the unit in icy or snowy conditions before use.
